Kara Newland
Registered Physiotherapist
Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapist
BA (Hons), BScPT
Kara has over 20 years of clinical experience, helping clients both manage and prevent various musculoskeletal injuries. Her individualized treatment plans blend advanced manual therapy techniques (such as joint mobilization and manipulation, myofascial release and neural tissue mobilization) with evidence-based modalities, such as dry needling.
Kara is particularly passionate about vestibular rehabilitation. She understands the impact that vestibular dysfunction can have on one's life because she has personally been diagnosed with a vestibular disorder.
Kara received her vestibular rehabilitation training through Duke University School of Medicine and Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. This intensive and comprehensive program is considered to be the 'Gold Standard' for Vestibular Rehabilitation competency. It provides its graduates with the necessary skills to assess and treat even the most complex vestibular disorders.
Kara is active member of VeDA, the Vestibular Disorders Association and is regularly engaged in continuing education to ensure that she is providing the most effective and efficient treatment.
In her spare time, Kara enjoys working on the 'bones' of older homes, renovating houses with her husband.
